Looking Great - Tips For Every Body Shape
No matter your body shape can look and feel amazing in the latest swimwear.
It all comes down to knowing your body shape and how to work your special curves and lines in the right swimsuit or bikini.
Everyone can accentuate their natural shape to look and feel great in swimwear. Whether you have big bust or small bust, or rock an hourglass shape, or are the lithe athletic type, there is a swimsuit for you.
Think Body Positive
While the wrong choice can visually add kilos, the trick is to flatter your figure with swimwear that embraces your body type and accentuates the positive.
It all comes down to knowing your assets and what you want to hide or accentuate and working towards a positive image that balances those features you like less with your best body bits.
Here’s an example how I achieve balance. I was blessed with great boobs, but the hips and ever-growing thighs. My secrets are simple. I balance my body visually by showcasing my top half. My go-to swimsuit is to draw attention to “my girls” with plunging one-pieces that stop just before my waist. Better yet are one with frills on the plunge for more attention up top.
These styles make me confident in the water, and I am not a small woman. But a body positive confidence is what it is all about.
Highlight Your Fabulous Features
When choosing swimwear the first step to body confidence is knowing what fabulous features you want to show off.
As well as following the tried and trusted body type rules of swimwear selection, consider these tips for building a flattering swimwear wardrobe looking your best:
- Bold prints and colours immediately draw attention. Avoid using these on areas you are trying to minimize, like a larger bust or bigger bottom.
- Choosing fun, trending prints to add focus to your favourite body area
- Ruffles, frills and buttons are great feminine details that add interest and are used to accentuate features, like drawing the eye to frills on
- Use features like ties and belts to accentuate the narrowing of the waist
- Plunging necklines are not just sexy. They draw the eye to that alluring feature, the bust. For those of us trying to take the focus wider hips or a who don’t like their bum, plunging swimsuits are a great choice
- If you are smaller up top, balance your silhouette with off the shoulder designs that visually even out your body
